Do I need a doctor’s
referral (prescription)?
Whistler Physiotherapy Group does not require
a doctor’s referral for treatment. Physiotherapist
in British Columbia are direct access practioners.
We work closely with the medical doctors to provide
quality services. Some extended medical insurances
require a referral in order for a patient to claim
their Physiotherapy or Massage Therapy expenses.
Usually a Doctor’s referral is also required
for custom-made orthotics, splints, and braces
in order to receive insurance reimbursement. Please
contact your human resource personnel to find
out what your policy covers and requires.
